About the Role

As an Auto Damage Trainee, you’ll help customers navigate the repair process and provide fair, accurate estimates of vehicle damage. Now, this position involves being adaptable since Auto Damage Adjusters adjust vehicles in all sorts of environments. You’ll inspect vehicles from the comfort of your own home, body shops, virtual estimating offices, or in the field – whichever best fits your needs – and get to practice estimating damage to vehicles.

What you’ll do.

GEICO provides market-leading, compensated training on the principles of adjusting auto damage. Upon successful completion of training, you’ll be charged with:

Fully examine and analyze cars involved in accidents.

Estimate the cost of repairs and negotiate reasonable settlements.

Work with body shops, rental car companies, and parts suppliers.

Utilize the most current auto adjustment tools and technology to provide accuracy.

Deal directly with customers to discuss insurance claims and repair procedures.

Improve your technical expertise of vehicle damage and repair on an ongoing basis.

Salary

Required Qualifications and Abilities

Valid driver’s license (having been three consecutive years in which the company’s underwriting standards have been met).

Can hold appropriate state and federal certifications and permits.

Flexibility to work from a home office or office space, as needed by the business.

Good mechanical knowledge and can evaluate automobile damage.

Adequate computer skills and multitasking.

Good concentration and decision-making skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a willingness to enhance them.

High school diploma or equivalent required (college degree preferred but not necessary).
